MELROSE — The Melrose Police Department is pleased to announce the launch of its first mobile app. The Melrose Police app will enable Melrose residents to stay connected with the most up-to-date news, from the convenience of their mobile devices

The app, which is now available for free via the Apple App Store or Google Play, offers the ability for residents to receive push notifications including traffic alerts, at-risk missing persons, and up-to-date news.

“Allowing residents to easily access our online fillable forms, department policies and procedures, and traffic alerts is taking a step forward to streamline access to community information always in efforts to make Melrose a safer place to live, work and grow.” says Chief Michael Lyle.

Other services provided through the mobile application include:

  • Forms; including:
    • Anonymous tips form
    • Overnight parking exemption requests
    • Online crime reporting
    • Public records requests

The mobile app was recently honored with a 2022 American Inhouse Design Award for its design.

Chief Lyle encourages Melrose residents and community members to download the app to their respective mobile devices, including phones and tablets to stay in touch and follow up-to-date news.

The mobile application was designed by John Guilfoil Public Relations.
