WHAT:

Held on the first Tuesday in August, National Night Out is a nationwide campaign designed to strengthen the relationship between police and fire officials and residents in order to foster partnerships and improve safety in neighborhoods.

This year, in partnership with the Melrose Fire Department, Melrose Police will sponsor a “touch a truck” event, and will have police and fire equipment, along with utility vehicles from many neighboring businesses on site.

“Every year we enjoy getting to interact with residents in a relaxed and fun environment,” Chief Lyle said. “We’re excited to once again get together with members from the fire department to hold this annual event.”

National Night Out is family-friendly and free to attend. Refreshments will be provided complimentary of LCM Plus.
