Melrose Police Looking to Identify Credit Card Thief

MELROSE —  Chief Michael L. Lyle reports that the Melrose Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man who stole a resident’s credit card and used it to make multiple purchases.

On Jan. 15, a Melrose resident noticed eight fraudulent charges on his credit card, totaling nearly $700. The purchases occurred on Jan. 13-15 at locations like Honey Dew Donuts, Walgreens, Rite Aid and Shaw’s in Melrose, as well as at a Cumberland Farms outside of Melrose and an auto supply store in Woburn.

Upon further investigation, the resident determined that his vehicle had been broken into and his credit card and $200 were missing.

“We’re hoping that members of the public can help us identify this individual,” Chief Lyle said. “If you recognize him, please contact the Melrose Police Department immediately.”

All tips can be submitted to Melrose Police by calling 781-665-TIPS or by filling out the department’s tips form here. All tips can remain anonymous.
