Melrose Police Participate in No-Shave November

MELROSE — Chief Michael L. Lyle announces that the Melrose Police Department is participating in No-Shave November to raise money for charities.

Throughout November, Melrose Police Officers who pledge at least $100 will be able to put their razors aside and grow out goatees and beards.

At the end of the month, the No-Shave Committee (made up of members of the Melrose Police Department) will select a charity or charities to donate the proceeds.

“No-Shave November is a great opportunity for officers to raise awareness for causes that are important to them,” Chief Lyle said. “I have no doubt that they’ll identify a worthy and meaningful organization to support through this initiative.”

At the end of the month, Chief Lyle will present an award to the officer who is voted to have the best beard by his peers.
