Melrose Police Searching for Unarmed Robbery Suspect

MELROSE — Chief Michael L. Lyle reports that the Melrose Police Department is actively searching for a suspect who was involved in an unarmed robbery today.

Around 11 a.m., a man entered Walgreens, 897 Main St. While in line at the register, the man reached over the counter and grabbed an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing out the back entrance toward Lynn Fells Parkway. No weapon was brandished.

The man is described to be approximately 5 feet 9 inches, in his 30s with a thin build, balding with the sides of his head shaved and may possibly have a dark-haired goatee in the middle of his chin. He was wearing a dark gray shirt, gray shorts and white and gray sneakers.

He was last seen in the area of Lynn Fells Parkway and Linden Road.

Anyone with information regarding this suspect is asked to immediately call the Melrose Police Department at 781-665-1212.
