*Updated Traffic Advisory* Boston’s Wounded Vet Ride to Come Through Melrose on May 14

Boston’s Sixth Annual Wounded Vet Ride will be coming through Melrose on Saturday, May 14.

The ride, which consists of hundreds of motorcycles raising money for wounded veterans, begins in Revere at 12 p.m. and will be entering Melrose before 12:30 p.m. The bikes will come via Washington Street in Malden, past Oak Grove, into Melrose. They will then take a left on Stone Place and continue onto Washington Street, to the Fellsway, Main Street and end by taking a left heading northbound to Wakefield.

Police will be staffed at the affected intersections to assist with the flow of traffic beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Residents should be aware that the above roads will not be accessible, except by emergency vehicles, for an hour or more.

As part of the annual call to NEMLEC from the Boston Police Department, the NEMLEC Motorcycle Unit was on scene at the Patriots Super Bowl Parade in Boston on Feb 5. Melrose Police Officer Alan Brown was part of the team that attended.

Main Street Reopened

Both lanes of Main Street are now open.
