Melrose Police Department Investigating Gunpoint Gas Station Robbery

MELROSE — Police Chief Michael L. Lyle reports that the Melrose Police Department is investigating the late Saturday evening robbery of a gas station in the City.

On Saturday, at about 10:45 p.m., Melrose Police  responded to the Shell Gas Station located on Main Street for a reported robbery. Upon arrival, officers were greeted by an employee who reported he has just been robbed by a gun-wielding suspect who punched the employee in the face and demanded money.

The suspect took an undetermined amount of cash and ran off.

The suspect was described as a male, approximately 6’4″ tall, wearing a black jacket, black pants, and a black mask.
