The Melrose Police Department and Melrose Fire Department enjoyed some friendly competition on August 5th as part of National Night Out, with the Police winning the charity Softball game 15-8. Proceeds from the event were split between The Sean Collier Fund and the Boston Firefighters Lt. Walsh & FF. Kennedy Fund. MIT Police Officer Sean Collier’s sister, Melrose Ward 2 Alderwoman Jennifer Lemmerman, started the game off with the ceremonial first pitch. The Melrose Police Department would like to thank those who attended and supported this event, we look forward to next year’s rematch.
