The Melrose Police Department has received a report from an adult female resident of Melrose that she was jogging on Vinton Street on Saturday June 22nd at approximately 9:30am.  When she approached the intersection of Vinton and North High Street the reporting party observed a white full size van with tinted windows on North High Street.  The vehicle engine was running.  It was at this time a white male party exited the rear side sliding door of the van and attempted to pull the victim into the van.  The victim began to struggle and was released.  The male suspect then re-entered the van, which then fled southerly on Vinton Street.  The victim described the second suspect, who was operating the van as a white male.  Both male suspects are described as wearing baseball hats, sunglasses and are clean shaven.  The victim returned to her residence and then reported the incident at Melrose Police Headquarters.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.  Anyone who has any information, or who was in the area at the time of the incident and may have seen the vehicle involved, are asked to notify the Melrose Police Department at (781) 665-1212
