Massachusetts Police Chiefs Raise $36,000 for Jimmy Fund at the 26th Annual Ralph Lepore Jimmy Fund Golf Tournament

100 Percent of Proceeds Going to Jimmy Fund

SUTTON — The Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association Foundation is pleased to announce that the Jimmy Fund will receive $36,000 after the completion of the 26th annual Ralph Lepore Jimmy Fund Golf Tournament.

Due to generous donations and participants in the auction, members of the foundation raised an additional $4,000 over last year’s total of $32,162. The tournament was held on Aug. 10 at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton.

“It has been another successful year for golfers at the tournament, who took time out of their busy schedules to support the Jimmy Fund,” said Melrose Police Chief Michael Lyle, who has organized the tournament for the past two years. “We certainly appreciate all of the contributions, which go to support an extremely worthy organization.”

Members of the foundation would like to thank all the sponsors that contributed to the game. The donations are crucial to support groundbreaking cancer research and personalized patient care at Dana-Farber.

The Jimmy Fund is the primary charitable organization of the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association Foundation, where 100 percent of the proceeds are donated to the fund annually. This year, the tournament brought in just under $54,00 in net proceeds. After expenses, the Jimmy Fund will receive $36,000.

Chief Lyle would like to thank Cheryl Lott and Dawn Thompson from the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police. The event would not have been possible without their assistance throughout the entire process.

A gracious thank you to Chief Lyle’s Co-Chair, Wakefield Chief Rick Smith, along with Stoneham Chief James McIntyre, Weston Chief Michael Goulding, Belmont Chief Richard McLaughlin and Woburn Chief Robert Ferullo, who also assisted with making the golf tournament a huge success.
